Web Design Case Study

Mike Brown Magic - a b2c small business website

Projected Included:

Company Background

Mike Brown Magic is a small magician business based out of Howell, MI. Founder and lead entertainer Mike Brown has been performing magic events for over 20 years!

Mike has performed at prominent places around Michigan such as Cross Roads Village, The Crim Road Race, and the Flint Cultural Center!

Mike is known for being a kid-show specialist and an awesome magician for kid’s birthday parties.

Mike knew that his website needed a facelift when he came to Sapphire Site Design.

Leads that arrived at his website, if they were able to find it (difficult due to punished Google rankings), were stuck using an outdated website with no contact form.

Mike wanted his website to join the modern era, and that’s where we came in.

The Old Outdated Website

Things That Needed Improvement

The New Upgraded Improved Website

Improved Features

Mobile Responsive

The website is easy to use and navigate across mobile devices.

Optimized for SEO

Updated focus keywords, meta descriptions and more.

Modern Design

The website has a clean, easy to navigate modern design.

Optimized for Search Engines

The website received a complete makeover with focus keywords for every page and unique keyword-rich meta descriptions.

Before SEO Optimization

Before the website was SEO optimized, the website was being penalized by Google for not being mobile-friendly (this is the blue text at the bottom of the picture).

  • Google penalized the website’s search rankings for 5+ years
  • The meta descriptions and titles did not have focus keywords

After SEO Optimization

Now that the website is SEO and mobile device optimized, Google no longer is penalizing the website rankings. The new website also has specific focus keywords for each page.

  • No more search rank penalization
  • Meta tags, meta descriptions, and page URLs all have focus keywords that they are aiming to rank for in Google search

Content + Copy writing

The key challenge to this website was creating copy that would get clicked.

We approached this by asking questions that stirred visitor curiosity, while building trust throughout the website, so that visitors felt comfortable talking to Mike.

Detailed Contact Form

A website is worthless if there is no way for it to drive business and generate new leads for you.

We added a contact form so that potential customers could get in contact with Mike without having to pick up the phone.

Of course, we provided the option for a traditional phone call as well. All the call to actions throughout the website took visitors to this page.
